Crystal clear waters, soft white beach, mild climate all the year, breathtaking landscapes immersed in a wild and pure nature. We are not talking about Neverland but the island of Minorca, the quietest of the Balearic Islands a perfect destination for young couples or families. A place where you can have a break from everyday stress or from tourist villages full of people.
Among the most beautiful beaches there are: Macarelleta, the Binigaus beach, Cavalleria and Cala Turqueta and Cala Algaiarens. They are the most beautiful beaches, those who still keep an original and unique charm. With its 290 km of coastline, Minorca is a very popular destination, not only for short summer holidays, but also for medium-long transfers.
Its beauty has also been recognized by UNESCO in 1993 declared it as Biosphere Reserve. The island is divided into eight municipalities, one more characteristic of another: the state capital Mahon (Maó in Catalan), Ciutadella Ferreries, Es Mercadal, Es Castell, Es Migjorn Gran, Alaior and Sant Lluís. Minorca thanks to the presence of the many monuments, including early Christian churches, cemeteries, necropolis and Roman cities, is the ideal destination for lovers of art, culture and history.
You can’t miss the talayotes, dating back to the period between 1600 and 123 BC.; they are impressive towers, built with huge stones to defend the island from enemy attacks. Other ancient buildings are the prehistoric funerary ships, from the characteristic shape reminiscent of an upturned ship. The most popular among them is the Naveta Es Tudons, which is located about 6 km from Ciutadella.
As said before, the island of Minorca is the ideal place for medium-long transfers. The leading sector of the local economy is the tourism, thus it offers more job opportunities, thanks mainly to the presence of numerous receptive structures: bars, restaurants, hotels, residences. April is the perfect month to move there to look for a job opportunity.

The sea here is one of the most important attractions, it’s an island hahaha
It might be your next holiday destination!
I have been to Menorca’s big sister, Mallorca, and I loved all the colors and the beautiful beaches. I imagine Menorca to be the same and I’d love to go if only there were some direct flights from where I live.
Menorca is not so different from Mallorca, they have their own peculiarities. Anyway they are two wonderful places to visit, especially during spring/summer seasons!!
