Avete mai pensato di costruire un palazzo per onorare il vostro amante deceduta per mostrare tutto il vostro amore?! Qualora la vostra risposta fosse affermativa, sicuramente oggigiorno questa non è una cosa fattibile. Potete, però, recarvi in un luogo fantastico e provare ad immedesimarvi nella situazione e sognare proprio che quell’amante foste voi! Tale monumento è il ‘Taj Mahal’, un edificio nato da un’atto d’amore da parte dell’imperatore verso la sua amata. Per quanto riguarda la sua struttura, l’edificio è costruito in uno splendido marmo bianco. La sua bellezza, infatti, è uno dei motivi per cui è considerato uno delle sette meraviglie del mondo.

Il Taj Mahal è situato sulle rive del fiume Yamuna in Agra (più precisamente in Uttar Pradesh – India) ed è il primo posto che solitamente si visita appena si arriva in città. Sapete cosa potreste fare al vostro arrivo? Sistemarvi in hotel o in un ostello (quello che voi preferite. Ci sono tante opzioni lì, tra cui un ostello nelle vicinanze del monumento chiamato Bonfire), risposarvi qualche oretta e poi ripartire subito per dirigervi verso il momumento del Taj Mahal.

Un suggerimento, prima di recarvi al Taj Mahal se dicedete di andare con il tipico taxi indiano chiamato “Auto-rickshaw” assicuratevi di specificare al conducente la vostra destinazione altrimenti potrebbe equivocare e portarvi alla stazione, la quale possiede lo stesso nome del monumento. Durante la vostra visita al Taj Mahal non dimenticate che portrete godere di una bella vista in cima all’edificio. Dopo aver esplorato per bene il monumento potete recarvi nel mercato lì vicino per comprare qualche souvenirs o qualche snack tipico del posto. Un ristorante molto valido in cui poter assaggiare pietanze locali è il Pind Balluchi.

L’espolrazione,però, ancora non è finita. Nuovo giorno, nuova avventura. Questa è la volta del Fatehpur Sikri, grande esempio d’architettura al tempo dell’impero Mughal. Questo posto è un complesso di edifici, una rimanenza della città murata Moghul con spazi pubblici e privati. Il Fatehpur Sikri è situato a 29 km da Agra e 40 km dall’aeroporto di kheria. Detto ciò, non vi resta che godere la giornata!

Un ultimo suggerimento, quando siete lì, non dimenticatevi di assaggiare il Petha, una tipica caramella di Agra che potete trovare nel negozio Panchi Petha. Un’idea regalo per amici, familiari e per voi stessi, in modo da portare con sè un tipico sapore di Agra al ritorno dal vostro viaggio.

Consigli dettati dalla mia esperienza:

  • Preferire di usare il trasporto pubblico piuttosto che mezzi propri per evitare traffico e spendere il tempo a cercare parcheggio.
  • Cercare di visitare la città durante i giorni lavorativi ed evitare weekend e festività, dove la quantità di gente è davvero massima.
  • Cercare di non visitare la città nelle ore troppo calde e se qualora dovesse succedere ricordate di tenervi idratati.
  • Non confondersi con l’originale negozio Panchi Petha poichè ce ne sono diversi con lo stesso nome ma solo due sono gli autentici.
  • Per finire, non dimenticatevi di controllare la presenza di offerte online per il vostro soggiorno in modo da riuscire a risparmiare denaro.

  3. I never knew the history of the Taj Mahal or why it was built! It’s very beautiful and had always wanted to visit. While not as grand the Fatehpur Sikri is also very beautiful and I had never heard of it. Will have to make note to add this on the list when Going to India.

Hii…myself the writer of this post and answering your question I would say Petha is simply inevitable for a person visiting Agra..this holds true not only for the tourists but also for the locals…anyone visiting Agra makes sure to carry back home few boxes of Petha for sure…I am savoring it since childhood and the variety has only increased over the years
